Retter is a HeartStar shepherd whelped 2/14/07. Retter's parents are HeartStar's Cisco Kid,OFA and HeartStar's Lucy,OFA.

Meet Retter and Paul Bernichon. Paul works for a police department in Milledgeville, Georgia. Paul's needs in a shepherd were more than just a backyard pet. He wanted a shepherd that could be used for Search and Rescue and would be pleasant to live with. We told him about the type of shepherds we were breeding and we helped him select the right puppy (now known as Retter).   After careful consideration Paul selected us for his new family member.

Paul wasted no time starting Retter's training. As Retter mastered one task they went to the next. At just 9 months of age Retter has achieved his certification as a Tracking Dog. He and Paul have received their GEMA license to search in the state of Georgia.

Retter is a good representation of the type of shepherds we are producing here at HeartStar Shepherds. He is a very intelligent shepherd with a family temperament with a desire to please their owners. This combination allows our shepherds to be flexible to meet the needs of most people looking for a German Shepherd. Our puppies we label as "Pets" with the proper training have the potential to become future crime fighters and family guardians. We are very proud of Paul and Retter and wish them the best for the future. Outlaws, Beware! Retter is on duty.

Anyone interested in more information on Central Georgia Search and Rescue you can check out their web site www.centralgeorgiak9sar.com

Retter will be featured in the online German Shepherd magazine "GSD by Design". He will be their Mr. January dog. The article will be written by our friends at Red Rock Shepherd Anita Rabidou-Milligan. Check out Retter's article by clicking here www.gsdbydesign.com/versatile_Jan.htm.

Melissa.jpg (15500 bytes)

Ryanwood's Madelyn of HeartStar was whelped 2/16/2006.  Her parents are HeartStar's Melissa, OFA and HeartStar's Harry Potter, OFA.

Maddie was purchased by Dianne Ryan in 2006.  Maddie is Dianne's second HeartStar shepherd.  Her first HeartStar Shepherd is named Brandy and was purchased back in 1995.  Dianna wanted to get another shepherd so Brandy could help teach her the ropes before she got too old.   Dianna said she just wanted a pet and wasn't interested in showing at all. Maddie was doing very well in her Obedience classes but one thing lead to another and before long Dianna had Maddie in the show ring.  Maddie's doing very well in the show ring as well.  To date she's taken multiple first and second place in her classes.  We wish Dianne and Maddie continued success with their show career.

HeartSta's Rock-It v Barick, OFA and HeartStar's Isabelle are Will's parents. Will was whelped March of 2007

Here Will (Blue Collar Male on left) is pictured with his brother (Purple Collar Male on right).  At 8 weeks of age Will was the smaller male.  As you can see, he is growing to being a large male.

An Email from Will's owner:

Here is a recent picture of Will (Rock-It's and Isabelle's March 10th litter, blue collar male). I can't believe how much he looks like the pictures of Rock-It! He is spoiled rotten and truly lives up to his name.  He's living the good life - going to Bruster's for ice cream, shopping at Petsmart and visiting his "grandparents" in McDonough. Everyone tells us what a beautiful dog he is. Our vet, who's personal breed is GSD, says he is a fine animal. We love him dearly and he has brought canine love back into our home. Besides being stubborn (my husband says he takes after me) he is a great dog and a much loved member of our family. He's very protective of our home and a little suspicious of all strangers.

Merry Christmas to you and your family.
