Libby's parents are Amber's Sweepstake, OFA and Guardian's Ruby. Whelped at Guardian Shepherds 11/21/2001

HeartStar's Liberty or Libby is our present foundation bitch. She comes from a litter of 9 puppies and 8 were females. Libby actually picked me instead of me picking her. The day I went to see the litter all of the puppies were running around Kenny's front yard. All of the puppies seem to be interested in exploring the yard except for Libby. She kept coming over to see me and was interested in getting some of my attention. As we started sorting the puppies by size and structure, my eye kept coming back to Libby. She made it an easy task of picking one of eight females.

It wasn't long after I got her home that I knew she was right shepherd for us. She was very interested in being with me. She was alert and not afraid of anything. Libby's temperament is a good mixture of both her father Sweeps and mother Ruby. Neither of her parents would back down from a confrontation and on the other hand they were very loyal and loving to their owners. It's my opinion that all German Shepherds should have this type of temperament. I'm very grateful to Guardian Shepherds (Kenny Williams) for allowing us the pleasure of owning a shepherd like Libby.

Libby's first litter was by our HeartStar's Cisco (not Cisco Kid).  It was a litter of 3 males and 2 females.  They were whelped on May 5th of 2003.  Above is our ad for this litter.  It may have been a little over done but we had a lot of fun doing it.   Thank God the puppies suffered not lasting damage from the photo session.  Our litter names for them were geared toward the Mexican holiday: Pepper, Nacho, Lobo, Isabelle, and Chi Chi.    .

After the pups got a little older, we changed the picture of our ad to show how the puppies were developing.

Dear Clint,

We wanted to send you some up to date pictures of Sammy. At age 4, he has become a very handsome fellow. Sammy tips the scales at 100 lbs andis 27 inches at the shoulders. Looking at the photos of Melissa and Rebel, he looks exactly like his littermates. We can't express to you adequately how much we love Sammy. He is sweet. loving, easy going , yet protective. He goes to work with Rush everyday. He is quite sure that he owns the boat shop and everyone works for him! If anyone is contemplating getting a puppy from you, we can assure them that they will be getting a wonderful family member. Sammy is great with children. One of the pictures I am sending is of one of our young family members laying on the floor on Christmas Day. We caught her just laying there singing to him. Sammy was enjoying every minute! Again, thank you for allowing us to get one of your beautiful puppies.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year (2007)

Hi Clint

Just a word to say Merry Christmas to you and your family.
We are still in London, and Rebel is doing great - very affectionate, he is just the best dog ever - a real family boy, just as you said he would be. You certainly have cornered the market on good natured shepherds! No sign of any aggression - he loves playing and meeting most other dogs, and is tolerant of people he doesn't know. Typically shepherd - like, he is rather aloof with strangers, but will tolerate their attentions with calm resignation. I can take him on crowded trains, and in the city, and he is perfectly calm and not at all nervy.

I like your new website - and have to say again that he looks exactly like his littermate, Melissa, though he is a bit bigger by the look of him. He is a very tall dog, and weighs about 98 lbs. I hope to have another one like him( from you) some time in the future...
All the best to you and your family.

We liked the first litter by Cisco and Libby so well that we repeated the breeding and kept Melissa as one of our own.  Today we have kept several of Melissa's off spring (Isabella, Nala, & Cream Sherry).

Major Dallas Von Schutzhund, OFA.  Major is sired by the 2002's West Minister winner Select Champion Kismet’s Sight For Sore Eyes, OFA, ROM or AKA Dallas.

For Libby's third litter we changed things up and bred her to a Dallas son.  Above is Pedro (a Major & Libby son) owned by River Shepherds.  He's a very nice male and has sired several nice litters by Chauncey.

From this breeding we kept HeartStar's Lucy, OFA.  Lucy is producing very well.  She's the mother of Retter.  Retter is pictured on the first page of our Album (2007)
